Ab00573-23.0 Anti-CD147 [OX-47]
Description: Recombinant monoclonal antibody to CD147. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma OX-47.
Clone Number: OX-47
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P26453
Published Application(s): RIA; FC; IHC-fr; WB
Published Species Reactivity: Rat
Immunogen: Mice immunized with rat T blasts from a mixed lymphocyte reaction between purified CD4+ T cells and irradiated spleen cells.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for rat CD147, which has a broad distribution; OX-47 labels T and B cell blasts, peritoneal macrophages, the endothelium of all except large vessels and kidney tubules, but does not label TDL and thymocytes.
Application Notes: This antibody binds mouse CD147, and has been used in FC and IHC-fr analysis to characterise CD147 and detect the cell types on which it is expressed, indicating that CD147 is a lymphocyte activation marker (Paterson, 1987). This antibody failed to give immunoprecipitates from radiolabelled activated T cells.
Antibody First Published in:

Antigens of activated rat T lymphocytes including a molecule of 50,000 M r detected only on CD4 positive T blasts Molecular Immunology, 1987, Vol.24(12), pp.1281-1290 PMID:2828930 Note on publication: Describes the original use of this antibody as part of FC and IP studies to identify new markers for activated T cells.
Concentration: See vial label.
This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
