Ab00665-23.0 Anti-Bet v 1 [BAB2]
Description: Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Bet v 1. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the B-cell line BAB2.
Clone Number: BAB2
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P15494
Alternative Name(s) of Target: Major Allergen from Birch Pollen; BETVIA
Published Application(s): ELISA; activate; WB
Published Species Reactivity: Birch (Betula pendula)
Immunogen: Bet v 1, a major allergen of the European white birch.
Specificity: This antibody binds to Bet v 1. It recognises amino acids 1-74 of recombinant Bet v 1 by Western Blot, whilst showing no binding to AA 75-160.
Application Notes: This antibody binds to Bet v 1 and appears to enhance binding of IgE as well as Bet v 1-induced immediate-type skin reactions and thus represent 'enhancing antibodies'.
Antibody First Published in:
Eibensteiner et al. Expression of a human IgG4 antibody, BAB2, with specificity for the major Birch pollen allergen, Bet v 1 in Escherichia coli: recombinant BAB2 Fabs enhance the allergic reaction. Int Arch Allergy Immunol. 1999 Feb-Apr;118(2-4):190-2. PMID:10224374 Note on publication: Describes the generation and characterization of this antibody.
Concentration: See vial label.
This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Human IgG4 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
