Ab00977-13.12 Anti-Glycoprotein H [MAb 5]
Description: Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Glycoprotein H. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma MAb 5.
Clone Number: MAb 5
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P12824
Published Application(s): ELIS; IP; RIA
Published Species Reactivity: HCMV
Immunogen: The antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice against purified HCMV, which expresses gH, in incomplete Freud's adjuvant.
Specificity: The antibody is specific to gH, which has at least two nonoverlapping antigenic sites A and B as well as an overlapping site AB. This antibody binds Site A with an affinity ~5x lower than antibodies for Site B.
Application Notes: The antibody specifically immunoprecipitates the gH protein. Its association constant for gH has been estimated using competetive binding solid-phase RIA.
Antibody First Published in:
Simpson et al. Neutralizing Monoclonal Antibodies That Distinguish Three Antigenic Sites on Human Cytomegalovirus Glycoprotein H Have Conformationally Distinct Binding Sites Journal of Virology, Jan. 1993, p.489-496 PMID:7677958 Note on publication: Describes the generation of several anti-gH antibodies and mapping of antigenic sites to which they bind.
Concentration: See vial label.
This chimeric human antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG2a format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
