Specificity: Rat CD90, also known as Thy1.1, a GPI-anchored membrane protein containing a single V type Ig-like domain.

Application Notes: This antibody binds to Thy1.1, which is allelically restricted between different host strains. Administration of OX7 leads to anti-Thy1 Glomerulonephritis.

Note on publication: Describes the generation of the antibody, shows it recognised Thy1.1 (Thy-1) by immuno-blotting of cell lines including thymocytes, neuronal cells, stem cells, immature B cells and connective tissues.

Flow-cytometry of thymocytes from two different mouse strains Thymocytes from FVB/N, BALB/c and their F1 progeny were stained with OX7 (anti-Thy1.1, Ab00109-1.1), IBL-1 (anti-Thy1.2) and KT-3 (anti-CD3). BALB/c express Thy1.1, whilst FVB/N express Thy1.2 – which is reflected in the specific antibody staining. Their F1 progeny however are positive for both markers, which again is clearly shown by the antibody staining.
