Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Polyglutamine repeats. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 3B5H10.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P42858
Alternative Name(s) of Target: Huntington disease protein; HD protein; huntingtin; HTT; htt
Immunogen: N-terminal 1-171 amino acid fragment of human Huntingtin with a 68 glutamine stretch.
Specificity: 3B5H10 is a conformation-sensitive antibody that is specific for extended polyglutamine repeats (polyQ) in mutant huntingtin (mhtt). The antibody does not detect mhtt aggregates in cells or wild-type htt, but does recognize a soluble mhtt monomer.
Antibody first published in:
Brooks E1, Arrasate M, Cheung K, Finkbeiner SM. Using antibodies to analyze polyglutamine stretches. Methods Mol Biol. 2004;277:103-28. PMID:15201452
Note on publication:
Describe monoclonal antibody [3B5H10] that specifically recognizes extended polyglutamine stretches in mutant huntingtin and methods for using the antibody to explore the structure of abnormal polyglutamine repeats.
