Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing Balb/c mice with a 4M urea extract derived from human melanoma cells (M14).
Specificity: This antibody is specific for human neural/glial antigen 2.
Application Notes: This antibody binds to melanoma-associated chondroitin sulphate proteoglycan, which stabilises cell-substratum interactions during the early stages of melanoma spreading.

The original publication details the production and characterization of a monoclonal antibody which recognizes a 240K dalton glycoprotein specific to melanoma cells.
Immunofluorescence staining of with anti-Neural/glial antigen 2 (NG2) (Ab00235) 9.2.27 Immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed stained with the chimeric rabbit IgG version of 9.2.27 (Ab00235-23.0) (1:1000 dilution) for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody (1:1500 dilution), showing nuclear staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show from left-right, top-bottom Ab00235-23.0, DAPI, merged channels and an isotype control. The isotype control was anti-fluorescein antibody (Ab00102-23.0) followed by staining with Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody.
