Immunogen: Recombinant human VEGF.
Specificity: Binds native and reduced human VEGF (isoform 165), with a Kd of 0.8 nm determined for the original clone.
Application Notes: This is the parental antibody clone to the humanized, therapeutic antibody Bevacizumab (marketed as Avastin) binding to VEGF. VEGF is a growth factor active in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and endothelial cell growth. It induces endothelial cell proliferation, promotes cell migration, inhibits apoptosis and induces permeabilization of blood vessels.

Western Blot using anti-VEGF antibody Ab00339 Rat skin lysate was resolved on a 10% SDS PAGE gel and blots probed with Ab00339-1.1 at 1.0 µg/ml before being detected by a secondary antibody. The expected band size (27 kDa) is seen along with bands corresponding to dimers.
