Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Human Glucagon Receptor. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma hGR-2 F6.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P47871
Alternative Name(s) of Target: hGR
Immunogen: Recombinant human glucagon receptor.
Specificity: The antibody binds to the human glucagon receptor.
Application Notes: This antibody binds to the human glucaon receptor, a GPCR that is activated by glucagon and stimulates adenylate cyclase. The receptor is involved in glucose homeostasis and regulats glucose production in the liver. The antibody acts as a competitive antagonist.
Antibody first published in:

Note on publication:
Describes the crystallisation of mAb hGR-2 F6 with the glucagon receptor and subsequent binding- and inhibition studies.
Immunofluorescence staining of fixed HepG2 cells with anti-Human Glucagon Receptor antibody hGR-2 F6 (Ab00416) Immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed HepG2 cells on Shi-fix™ coverslips, permeabilized with 0.15% Triton and stained with the chimeric mouse IgG1 version of hGR-2 F6 (Ab00416-1.1) at 10 µg/ml for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody (2 µg/ml), showing punctate membrane staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show from left-right, top-bottom Ab00416-1.1, DAPI, merged channels and an isotype control. The isotype control was stained with an unknown specificity antibody (Ab00178-1.1) followed by Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody.
