Immunogen: The C-terminal domain of human CD38 (residue 45–300) was expressed and produced in a yeast expression system. The purified recombinant protein was used as an antigen to immunize llamas. Phage display technology was used to obtain positive clones against CD38.
Specificity: MU551 binds an epitope that is close to the middle of the CD38 molecule, on the opposite side of the active site pocket. The residues composing this epitope are: K69, Y70, E72, I73, H74, P75, R78, T136, Q137, V138, Q139, R140, D141, M142, F143, D147, Y152, V288, K289, N290, P291, E292.
Application Notes: The nanobody MU551 has been crystallised with CD38.
