HEXpress™ HEK Antibody Production

We developed our proprietary HEXpress™ antibody expression platform to meet the growing demand for recombinant antibody technology across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics and academia. This serum-free mammalian transient expression system offers a faster, more affordable alternative to stable cell line generation, rapidly producing recombinant antibodies in HEK cells with high purity and low endotoxin levels.

We can start expression from your electronic antibody sequence, hybridoma cell line or purified antibody protein. We offer milligram-to-gram scale expression of antibodies in any species, isotype or format, with all production occurring in our ISO 9001:2015-certified manufacturing facility. Our Gold and Service expression services provide highly purified IgG antibodies suitable for in vitro and in vivo needs, while our antibody engineering expertise enables the manufacture of unique formats such as multispecifics and fragments.

HEXpress™ Silver Antibody Expression Service

The HEXpress™ Silver service offers high-quality recombinant antibody expression at affordable prices, with our academic customers receiving a further 10% discount. The service covers gene synthesis to highly purified antibody in as little as 6 weeks.

HEXpress™ Gold Antibody Expression Service

The HEXpress™ Gold service has been developed for those in pre-clinical development of therapeutic antibodies. This service provides the same speed as the standard service but with stricter control on monomer purity and endotoxin levels.

For both the HEXpress™ Silver and Gold services, Absolute Antibody guarantees the quantity and quality of the antibody produced. If these criteria are not met, the customer will incur a 30% project initiation cost but no further costs. Timelines shown are representative of the average timelines for this service. Delays in delivery do not restrict Absolute Antibody’s right to invoice the full cost of the project.

Engineered Antibody Expression Service

Absolute Antibody specializes in antibody engineering and the recombinant expression of antibodies in any format. Our Periodic Table of Antibodies illustrates the more than 180 different antibody formats we’ve produced to date, with our real-world expression experience informing the manufacturability score of each antibody.

For engineered antibodies, we begin with a milligram-scale pilot production run to determine expression levels and purification strategy before moving onto larger-scale production. We use a variety of antibody purification strategies to enable manufacturing success across such a wide range of formats, including a proprietary lectin-based purification system for our IgA, IgM and IgE antibodies. Each engineered antibody is different, and our pilot run will inform further and larger-scale production to ensure we deliver antibodies of the highest possible quality.
