In 2018 Absolute Antibody merged with Kerafast, Inc., a company which strives to find rare and interesting research reagents from academic labs and market them to the wider scientific community. One unique product they found was the antibody S9.6, which binds specifically to hybrid DNA/RNA and is useful for studies of RNA biogenesis, DNA replication, R-loops, and epigenetics. Originally developed at the NIH’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the antibody has now been used by researchers worldwide and cited in more than 80 peer-reviewed publications.
S9.6 is now available as part of Absolute Antibody’s recombinant catalog, in new engineered formats.
Alongside the original Mouse IgG2a format, we are offering S9.6 engineered as Rabbit and Goat IgG, ideal for co-labeling studies using immunofluorescence. We’re also offering S9.6 engineered as a His-tagged Mouse Fab antibody fragment, for reduced background in pull-down assays or higher-density coating of beads and surfaces.
All of these antibodies are available with custom conjugation options to expand their utility. For example, a conjugated Fab fragment could offer improved localisation of the hybrid structure in super resolution microscopy.
