Absolute Antibody Opens New Facility

The expansion continues! This summer saw us more than double our laboratory space at the Wilton Centre, our manufacturing facility in the North East of England. We now have four larger labs dedicated to molecular biology, automation, tissue culture, and purification. We also have an expanded shipping and storage area, as well as shiny new offices and break rooms to keep the team in top shape. These new facilities significantly increase our production capacity, so we can better serve our growing customer demands and continue to grow our recombinant catalog.

It’s been an exciting 2018 so far at Absolute Antibody. In February, we merged with Kerafast, Inc and opened our North American office in Boston, MA. We’ve since launched world-exclusive murine bispecifics, pioneering polyclonal immortalization technology, and our very own quarterly newsletter ‘Antibody Engineering News’ (you can sign up for it here). The autumn will see us attend three major conferences in ASCB, MEDICA, and PEGS Lisbon, where our CSO Ian Wilkinson will give a talk sharing his expertise in large-scale transient protein production.

A busy business needs bigger labs, and these will accommodate additional staff members and new robotic equipment as we expand further.

“The new facility supports the continued growth of our company and underlines our commitment to advancing recombinant antibody technology,” says Nick Hutchings, our CEO. “I look forward to what 2019 will bring!”
