Recombinant monoclonal antibody to cytochrome c . Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 3.7C4.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P00397
Alternative Name(s) of Target: Cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1; CYT; cytc; Cytochrome c oxidase polypeptide I
Immunogen: This antibody was raised by immunising OVA-primed mice with cytochrome c-OVA.
Specificity: This antibody recognises mouse cytochrome c (CYT) which is a part of the respiratory chain responsible for the catalysis of the reduction of oxygen to water.
Application Notes: Competitive ELISA confirmed high relative affinity of this antibody to the mouse cytochrome c (Mueller et al., 1997).
Antibody first published in:
Mueller et al. B lymphocyte recognition of the self antigen mouse cytochrome C in different mouse strains: targeting of the same dominant epitope by naturally-occurring cells expressing distinct VH genes. Mol Immunol. 1997 Aug-Sep;34(12-13):843-53. PMID:9464520
Note on publication:
This article describes the generation and characterisation of the 3.7C4 antibody.
Immunofluorescence staining of fixed NIH3T3 cells with anti-cytochrome c antibody 3.7C4 (Ab01492) Immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed NIH3T3 cells on Shi-fix™ coverslips stained with the chimeric rabbit IgG version of 3.7C4 (Ab01492-23.0) at 10 µg/ml for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody (2 µg/ml), showing membrane staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show from left-right, top-bottom Ab01492-23.0, DAPI, merged channels and an isotype control. The isotype control was an unknown specificity antibody (Ab00178-1.1) followed by staining with Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody.
