Immunogen: The original mouse version of this antibody was raised by immunizing a mouse with the 3pk protein.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for human 3pk. 3pk is a stress-activated serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in cytokines production, endocytosis, cell migration, chromatin remodeling and transcriptional regulation. Following stress, it is phosphorylated and activated by MAP kinase p38-alpha/MAPK14, leading to phosphorylation of substrates.
Application Notes: The mouse version of this antibody was used for immunoblotting cell lysates from cells infected with influenza to asses protein expression during influenza infection (Luig et al, 2010; pmid:20484669).

A novel mechanism by which influenza A viruses escape the antiviral action of PKR is described. And it is demonstrated that the mitogen-activated protein kinase-activated protein kinases (MAPKAPKs) MK2 and MK3 are activated on virus infection and, in their active form, directly interact with the repressor of the inhibitor of PKR p88(rIPK).
