Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Biotin. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma mAb2.
Alternative Name(s) of Target: Vitamin B7; Vitamin H; BTN; ChEBI: 15956
Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing femal BALB/c mice with biotin-KLH conjugate.
Specificity: This antibody is capable of recognizing biotin conjugated proteins. It has very little or no affinity towards binding free biotin.
Application Notes: This antibody was capable of binding biotin conjugated proteins in an ELISA. This antibody has a higher affinity for biotin conjugated protein than free biotin. This antibody is recommended for detection an diagnosis of biotin labeled proteins in a sample using techniques like flow cytometry, immunoblot assays, immunofluorescence studies.
Antibody first published in: WO2020028776 PMID:
ELISA using mAb2 (Ab02422) and biotin. Binding curves of the rabbit IgG chimeric version of the Anti-Biotin antibody mAb2 (Ab02422-1.1; blue line) and isotype control (Ab00102-23.0, anti-fluorescein; orange line) to an ELISA plate coated with biotin at a concentration of 2.5 ug/ml. A 3-fold serial dilution from 3000 to 0.0169 ng/ml was performed using Ab02422 antibody. For signal detection, a 1:4000 dilution of a HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody was used.
