Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Bovine Coronavirus. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma BCoV1/1.
Alternative Name(s) of Target: BCV; coronavirus; Anti-BCV 1/1; BCV 1/1; Bev ClonA 04.11.20; Bovine coronavirus strain V270; human coronavirus OC43
Immunogen: The original mouse IgG1 antibody was raised against sucrose-gradient purified bovine coronavirus (BCV) V270.
Specificity: This antibody recognizes bovine or human coronavirus OC43. Coronaviruses are common viruses that affect most humans and usually cause mild to moderate upper-respiratory tract illnesses. There are four main sub-groupings of coronaviruses, known as alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. OC43 is considered a beta form of the virus.
Application Notes: BCoV1/1 is a strongly neutralizing anti-bovine coronavirus antibody. It can be used both in coronavirus research and diagnostics development for the bovine coronavirus infection. It is also recommneded for detection of the bovine coronavirus in various samples. BCoV1/1 was used to construct an ELISA-based test to detect bovine enteric coronavirus in feces (Czerny and Eichhorn, 1989; pmid: 2549679).This antibody can be also utilized to detect human coronavirus OC43.
