Recombinant monoclonal antibody to E2 protein. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma Chk265.
Alternative Name(s) of Target: CHIKV E2 B domain; B domain of the E2 glycoprotein
Immunogen: La Reunion 2006 OPY-1 strain of CHIKV injected into adult C57BL/6 mice deficient for interferon regulatory factor 7 with follow-up boosters.
Specificity: This antibody binds to the B domain of the E2 glycoprotein of alphaviruses, such as Chikungunya virus, O’nyong’nyong virus, Ross River virus, Semliki Forest virus, Mayaro virus, Una virus, Getah virus, Bebaru virus, Middelburg virus, Barmah Forest virus. This antibody was successfully used to detect the E2 glycoprotein of La Reunion, Singapore, and LR2006_OPY1 CHIKV strains.
Application Notes: This antibody binds to the B domain of the E2 glycoprotein of alphaviruses and protects against disease and virus dissemination in vivo (Pal et al., 2013; PMID: 23637602) (Fox et al., 2015; PMID: 26553503). The antibody detected CHIKV E2 secretion by AP-61 and C6/36 mosquito cell lines by western blot analysis (Tsai et al., 2023; PMID: 36434113).
