Recombinant monoclonal antibody to GP1. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma GD01.

Immunogen: GD01 was generated by immunizing mice with inactivated JUNV.
Specificity: GD01 binds to GP1 (KD ~12.5 nM) of the JUNV mammarenavirus surface envelope glycoprotein GPC. Binding to GP1 mimics the contacts made by the viral cellular receptor (the CDR3 mimics the interaction that Y211 of TfR1 has with GP1). GD01 competes with QC03 for binding to GP1 which suggests similar modes of binding. Junín (JUNV) is a New World mammarenavirus which causes Argentine hemorrhagic fever (AHF). GPC is comprised of SSP, GP1 and GP2 polypeptides. GP1 is the most membrane-disal subunit and acts by binding to TfR1. GD01 does not neutralize the other New World hemorrhagic fever mammarenaviruses Machupo (MACV), Guanarito (GTOV) or Sabiá (SBAV) viruses,
Application Notes: GD01 is able to neutralize the active form of JUNV by disrupting the interaction between GP1 and TfR1. The GD01 Fab fragment was crysallized bound to GP1. This anitbody can also be used in ELISAs, for example competition assays which showed that IgGs from survivors of AHF did not compete with GD01 and so bind to different epitopes.
