Recombinant monoclonal antibody to N-acetyl-ganglioside (GM1/2/3). Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma A3.
Immunogen: The antibody was generated by injecting BALB/c mice with GM1 ganglioside incorporated into liposomes.
Specificity: Broader specificity than E1, binding strongly to GM1 and GM2, and showing moderate binding to GM3. The antibody recognises only the N-acetylneuraminic acid deratives of gangliosides; no N-glycolylneuraminic acid derivatives are recognised.
Application Notes: ELISA demonstrated A3 binds strongly to GM1 and GM2, and exhibits moderate binding to GM3 (Alfonso et al, 1995).
