Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing bol sheep with synthetic human NT-proBNP protein. Later on a chimeric version of this antibody was generated that had variable domain sequences of the original sheep antibody and human framework regions.
Specificity: This antibody binds NT-proB-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), a 76 amino acid cleaved N-terminal (NT)-pro hormone BNP (NT-proBNP), which is a non-active prohormone that is released from the protein proBNP. BNP is a naturally secreted cardiac regulatory hormone that influences blood pressure and vascular water retention in human physiology. The plasma BNP and NT-proBNP concentration are clinically recognized biomarkers for various cardiovascular diseases.
Application Notes: This antibody can be used for the detection of NT-proBNP in a sample using ELISA (CN109678958).
