Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with recombinant human PAX-5 peptide (amino acids 378- 391) conjugated with KLH (PAX5-PEP) in Freund's non-complete adjuvant.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for the amino acid sequence 'CGAAPPAAATAYDRH' of the human PAX-5 protein. PAX-5 is a transcription factor that plays an essential role in commitment of lymphoid progenitors to the B-lymphocyte lineage. The PAX-5 is also known as B cell-specific activator protein (BSAP), expressed in the early stage of B cell differentiation, which fulfills a dual role by repressing B-lineage inappropriate genes and simultaneously activating B-lineage-specific genes.
Application Notes: The binding characterization of this antibody was done using ELISA. The affinity constant of the original IgG1 antibody was determined to be 2.22 × 10^9 M^(-1). This antibody was capable of detecting BSA-PAX5-PEP in a western blot assay. This antibody is similar to commercially available anti-PAX-5 antibody SP34 in staining various human tissues. This antibody was used in the immunohistochemical staining of B cell lymphomas and T cell lymphomas (CN108623683).
