Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Podocalyxin. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma mAb4F10.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: O00592
Alternative Name(s) of Target: PC; PCLP-1; GCTM-2 antigen; Gp200; Podocalyxin-like protein 1; 4F10
Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/C mice with purified human podocalyxin-glutathione S-transferase (GST) fusion protein containing the intracellular, transmembrane, and a part of the extracellular domain of human PCLP.
Specificity: The antibody is specific for human podocalyxin. The epitope recognized by the antibody is located on the intracellular domain of podocalyxin. Podocalyxin, a sialoglycoprotein, is thought to be the major constituent of the glycocalyx of podocytes in the glomerulus (Bowman's capsule) in the kidneys. It is a member of the CD34 family of transmembrane sialomucins.
Application Notes: The antibody recognized rabbit PCLP1 in human renal cortical sections on immunofluorescence. The antibody detected PCLP by western blot analysis. The antibody recognized and immunoprecipitated rat podocalyxin (Kershaw et al., 1997; PMID: 9188463). The antibody detected PCLP in HEV of tonsil by immunofluorescence analysis (Sassetti et al., 1998; PMID: 9625756).
