Recombinant monoclonal antibody to TSH. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma TSM1.3.
Alternative Name(s) of Target: Thyroid stimulating hormone; CHEBI:81567
Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing balb/c mice with human TSH.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for human thyroid stimulating hormone. Thyroid stimulating hormone is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroxine (T4), and then triiodothyronine (T3) which stimulates the metabolism of almost every tissue in the body. It is a glycoprotein hormone produced by thyrotrope cells in the anterior pituitary gland, which regulates the endocrine function of the thyroid.
Application Notes: The binding characterization of this antibody towards thyroid stimulating hormone was done using ELISA (Iba et al., 1995)

Note on publication: Describes the generation of two plasmids to be used in the generation of a chimeric antibody containing variable regions derived from a mouse and constant regions derived from a human antibody chain.
