Immunogen: The original antibody was isolated from a VHH library generated by immunization of an alpaca with whole glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) cells.

Specificity: This antibody binds the human vimentin. Vimentins are class-III intermediate filaments found in various non-epithelial cells, especially mesenchymal cells. Vimentin is attached to the nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, and mitochondria, either laterally or terminally.

Application Notes: The binding reactivity of this antibody towards vimentin was checked using ELISA. This antibody can also be used to identify vimentin in a western blot (PMID: 28498803).
