Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the scFv M45.
Alternative Name(s) of Target: MOG
Immunogen: Rat MOG.
Application Notes: The antibody binds specifically to MOG, a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the surface of oligodendrocytes in the central nervous system, that plays an important role in maintaining the structure of the myelin sheath. Monoclonal antibodies that target MOG are involved in the pathogenesis of the demyelinating disorder multiple sclerosis (MS). Animals injected with anti-MOG antibodies have been shown to display symptoms of human MS, and can thereby be used as models to study the development of the disease. The monoclonal antibodies M45 and M3-24 bind to distinct epitopes on MOG.

Note on publication:
Describes the characterization of the expression of six monoclonal antibodies directed against MOG, in order to study the role of pathogenic autoantibodies in autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis.
