Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Acetylcholinesterase. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 10D.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P22303
Alternative Name(s) of Target: ACHE; AChE; HuAChE
Immunogen: The original mouse antibody was generated by immunizing mice with full-length recombinant human acetylcholinesterase (rHuAChE) as immunogen.
Specificity: This antibody binds human acetylcholinesterase, which is a cholinergic enzyme primarily found at postsynaptic neuromuscular junctions, especially in muscles and nerves. It immediately breaks down or hydrolyzes acetylcholine (ACh), a naturally occurring neurotransmitter, into acetic acid and choline.
Application Notes: Acetylcholinesterase is an enzyme that catalyzes the breakdown of acetylcholine and of some other choline esters that function as neurotransmitters. The original mouse IgG1 version of this antibody binds human acetylcholinesterase with a binding affinity of 0.4 nM. The binding affinity of mouse IgG1 version for truncated, monomeric recombinant HuAChE was measured by ELISA. This antibody was used in the immunopurification of membrane bound AChE on human RBCs by binding on immobilized antibody for further detection by mass spectrometry. RBC AChE can be used as a biomarker for exposure to organophosphorus pesticides and nerve agents (PMID: 28892361).
