Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Alkaline phosphatase. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma VI-AP (2D5/5B8).
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P26151
Alternative Name(s) of Target: ALP
Immunogen: The original mouse IgG1 version of this antibody was raised by immunizing mice against calf alkaline phosphatase.
Specificity: This antibody recognizes the calf alkaline phosphatase enzyme, and does not cross-react with humans.
Application Notes: This original mouse IgG1 antibody mostly gets used as a negative control antibody, as the name suggests. One group used the antibody with immunofluorescence to control for other factors that could provide cell lysis, and provide a better view on how effective their own antibodies were (Sugita et al., 1986; PMID: 3456339). Another group used this antibody as a negative control in an immunofluorescence assay measuring the expression of certain antigens on human T-cells (Pickl et al., 1996; PMID: 8707334). A final group used the antibody with immunocytochemistry and flow cytochemistry as negative control in their research about the oncological proliferation marker Ki-76 (Nies et al., 2018; PMID: 30176186)
