Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Chloramphenicol. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 10A3B6E .
Alternative Name(s) of Target: C11H12Cl2N2O5; CAS: 56-75-7; CAP; CLM; chloromycetin; chlornitromycin; levomycetin
Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with CAP-OVA conjugate protein.
Specificity: This antibody binds chloramphenicol, which is a broad spectrum antibiotic used in the treatment of a number of bacterial infections. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic and is in the class of antimicrobials that inhibits protein synthesis. It has been used for treating superficial eye infections such as bacterial conjunctivitis, and otitis externa. It has also been used for the treatment of typhoid and cholera.
Application Notes: This antibody was used for the detection of chloramphenicol in a test sample using ELISA. This antibody is recommended for detection of antibiotic drugs (food adulterants) in food commodities like milk, meat and seafood which originate from animals (PMID: 27003441).
