Recombinant monoclonal antibody to DUX4. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma P4H2.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: Q9UBX2
Alternative Name(s) of Target: Double homeobox protein 4; Double homeobox protein 10; DUX10; DUX4L1; P4H2-D3
Immunogen: This antibody was raised by immunising mice with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human DUX4.
Specificity: This antibody recognises C-terminal fragment of human DUX4-fl, aa 349-424. It does not cross-react with DUX4c. DUX4 is a protein thought to be engaged in facioscapulohumeral dystrophy (FSHD), one of the most common muscular dystrophies.
Application Notes: This antibody can be utilised in the identification of DUX4 in via wide variety of methods, such as WB, IF, IHC, to assess the protein expression of DUX4 in muscle cells affected by facioscapulohumeral dystrophy (FSHD). P4H2 was successful in detecting DUX4 via Western blot in a sample of C2C12 cells transfected with pCS2+mkgDUX4 (Geng et al., 2011). Furthermore, this antibody was used to stain C2C12 myoblasts transfected with human DUX4 (Geng et al., 2011). Finally, this antibody gave very crisp and clear DUX4 staining in sections of a CIC-DUX4 fusion-positive round cell tumour (Siegele et al., 2017).
