Recombinant monoclonal antibody to FAK. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 3C4.

Immunogen: The mouse version of this antibody was generated by immunizing mice with a mixture of affinity-purified tyrosine phosphoproteins from chick embryo fibroblasts expressing activated pp60src, and recognizes FAK.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for chicken tensin. Tensin may be involved in cell migration, fibrillar adhesion formation, cartilage development and in linking signal transduction pathways to the cytoskeleton.
Application Notes: To characterise the binding of the mouse version of this antibody to tyrosine-phosphorylated protein, immunoblotting on tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins from CEFs, NIH 3T3, Rat-1, HOS and 10W was performed. Furthermore, immunoprecipitating on the same samples was preformed. The antibody showed a reaction in both experiments and has cross-reactivity (Kanner et al, 1990; pmid:2110361). Cell lysates from CE cells infected with RCAS/RCAS-FRNK/RCAS-FAK were immunoprecipitated using the mouse version of this antibody. Furthermore, the immunoprecipitated proteins are western blotted using this antibody (Richardson and Parsons, 1996; pmid:8606775).

To study transformation-relevant tyrosine kinase substrates, we have generated monoclonal antibodies to individual tyrosine phosphoproteins, including p130, p120, p110, and five additional phosphoproteins (p210, p125, p118, p85, and p185/p64). These antibodies detected several of the same tyrosine phosphoproteins in chicken embryo fibroblasts transformed by avian retroviruses Y73 and CT10, encoding the yes and crk oncogenes, respectively.
