Recombinant monoclonal antibody to HIV p24 antibody; HIV gp120 antibody. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 1F7.
Alternative Name(s) of Target: ATCC No. HB 11286; anti-idiotypic antibody
Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with pooled human polyclonal HIVIG.
Specificity: The anti-idiotypic antibody recognizes antibodies that react to different components of the HIV virus, such as gp120, p24. The antibody does not react with antibodies derived from SLE and B cell lymphoma.
Application Notes: The HIV-1 antigen capture ELISA was used to test the binding of human monoclonal anti-HIV-1 to the antibody. The antibody bound to anti-p24 antibodies and anti-gp120 antibodies. Western blot analysis confirmed that the antibody reacts with human antibodies of different HIV-1 antigen specificities (Wang et al., 1992; PMID: 1378015). SHIV-infected macaques were immunized with the antibody. Significant increases in breadth and potency of HIV-1 neutralizing antibody titers to one or more virus strains were detected in all three of the 1F7 immunized macaques (US6057421A).
