Recombinant monoclonal antibody to S protein. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 6E6.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: Q91AV1
Alternative Name(s) of Target: PEDV; S; E2; Spike glycoprotein; S glycoprotein; Peplomer protein; Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus
Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing 6 week-old-female BALB/c mice with 50 μg of purified PEDV emulsified in complete Freund's adjuvant.
Specificity: This antibody binds a linear epitope between amino acids 756 SGSIGYVPLQDGQVKI 771 of the spike protein of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV). S1 region attaches the virion to the cell membrane by interacting with host ANPEP/aminopeptidase N, initiating the infection. PEDV, a member of the genus Alphacoronavirus in the family Coronaviridae, causes acute diarrhea and/or vomiting, dehydration and high mortality in neonatal piglets.
Application Notes: The binding characterization of this antibody to PEDV spike protein linear epitope 'SGSIGYVPLQDGQVKI' was done using ELISA and western blot. This antibody also bound a peptide having amino acids sequence 'LQDGQVKI' in an ELISA (PMID: 18400422).
