Recombinant monoclonal antibody to TRAAK. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 13E9.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: Q9NYG8
Alternative Name(s) of Target: KCNK4; TRAAK; Potassium channel subfamily K member 4; TWIK-related arachidonic acid-stimulated potassium channel protein; Two pore potassium channel KT4.1; Two pore K(+) channel KT4.1
Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with recombinant human TRAAK.
Specificity: This antibody binds human TRAAK, which is a voltage-insensitive potassium channel
Application Notes: The binding characterization of this antibody was done using ELISA and western blot (PMID: 23341632).
Antibody first published in:

Describes the antigen-antibody interactions using X-ray crystallography.
Immunofluorescence staining of HepG2 cells with anti-TRAAK antibody 13E9 (Ab03283). Immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed HepG2 cells on Shi-fix™ coverslips stained with the chimeric rabbit IgG version of 13E9 (Ab03283-23.0) (1:100 dilution) for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody (1:1000 dilution), showing cytoplasmic staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show, from left-right, top-bottom, Ab03283-23.0, DAPI, merged channels, and an isotype control. The isotype control was an unknown specificity antibody (Ab00178-23.0) followed by staining with Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody.
Western blot using anti-TRAAK antibody 13E9 (Ab03283). Kelly cells lysate (35µg protein in RIPA buffer) was resolved via SDS-PAGE, and the subsequent blot was probed with the chimeric rabbit version of 13E9 (Ab03283-23.0) at 1µg/ml before detection using an anti-rabbit secondary antibody. A primary incubation of 1 hour was used, and proteins were detected by chemiluminescence.
