Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Testosterone. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 5F2.

Immunogen: This antibody was generated by panning against the VTT naïve human scFv phage display libraries VHVκ and VHVλ.
Specificity: The antibody is specific for the testosterone molecule. Testosterone is the primary sex hormone and anabolic steroid in males.
Application Notes: The testosterone binding affinity of the 5F2 Fab fragment is 900 nM as determined by a competitive ELISA. Binding specificity of the 5F2 Fab was also studied by using 5α‐ dihydrotestosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate and androstenedione. Furthermore the Fab version of this antibody was co-crystallized with testosterone and the structure was identified using x-ray crystallography (Niemi et al, 2011; pmid:21360611).
