Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Alpha-enolase. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the chicken B cell clone EnL5.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P06733
Alternative Name(s) of Target: α-enolase; MBP-1; MPB-1; ENO1; NNE; ENO1L1; MBPB1; MPB1; Enolase 1; Non-neural enolase; 2-phospho-D-glycerate hydro-lyase; C-myc promoter-binding protein; Phosphopyruvate hydratase; Plasminogen-binding protein
Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing female white leghorn (Gallus domesticus) chickens with 100 μg purified α-enolase in an equal volume of Freund's complete adjuvant by an intramuscular injection. The total RNA was extracted from the enlarged spleens for scFv antibody library construction. This clone was isolated by panning the scFv library against alpha-enolase.
Specificity: This antibody binds alpha-enolase, which is a glycolytic enzyme expressed in most tissues. It catalysis the conversion of 2-phosphoglycerate to phosphoenolpyruvate. In addition to glycolysis, it is involved in various processes such as growth control, hypoxia tolerance and allergic responses
Application Notes: The binding specificity of this antibody for alpha-enolase was done using ELISA. This antibody was also used for detection of α-enolase expressed in the PE089 cells using flow cytometry. This antibody was also used for immunofluorescent and immunocytochemical staining of α-enolase molecules expressed in PE089 cells (PMID: 20655599).
