Recombinant monoclonal antibody to BNYVV Coat Protein. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 14cG6.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: Q9YZK2
Alternative Name(s) of Target: Beet necrotic yellowvein virus coat protein; BNYVV CP
Immunogen: This antibody was raised by injecting purified BNYVV CP into mice.
Specificity: Specific for epitope 4b (RTSP) which are amino acids 182-186 on the BNYVV coat protein. Binding is inhibited by large concentrations of plant material, and the epitope is readily cleaved in the presence of proteases.
Application Notes: This antibody is specific for epitope 4b of the BNYVV coat protein. Its binding specificity has been confirmed in dot blots (Commandeur et al, 1994) and western blots (Fecker et al, 1996) and double antibody sandwich ELISAs using an alkaline-phosphatase fusion protein (Uhde et al, 2000). It has been expressed as a scFv construct (Fecker et al, 1996) in both E. coli and higher plants.

Note on publication:
Discusses the use of antibodies to analyse the different epitopes of the BNYVV coat protein using antibodies which recognise overlapping epitopes.
