Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Brucella A antigen. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma YsT9.1.
Alternative Name(s) of Target: YsT9-1
Immunogen: This antibody was raised by immunizing mice with B.melitensis.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for the brucella class of bacteria. Brucella is a genus of Gram-negative bacteria, named after David Bruce (1855–1931). They are small (0.5 to 0.7 by 0.6 to 1.5 µm), nonencapsulated, nonmotile, facultatively intracellular coccobacilli.
Application Notes: To characterize the binding of this antibody, an ELISA was preformed on a B. melitensis 16M O-polysaccharide-biotin conjugate using the mouse version of this antibody (Bundle et al, 1989; pmid:2474505). An anti-idiotypic antibody was raised by panning against the mouse version of this antibody. Furthermore surface plasmon resonace was preformed using an anti-idiotipic antibody with the mouse version of this antibody as antigen (Tanha et al, 2002; pmid:12009207).
Antibody first published in:
Bundle et al. Definition of Brucella A and M epitopes by monoclonal typing reagents and synthetic oligosaccharides. Infect Immun. 1989 Sep; 57(9): 2829–2836. PMID:2474505
Note on publication:
The paradigm that Brucella A and M epitopes are simultaneously expressed on single cells and within one antigen molecule was reinvestigated by using polysaccharide-specific murine monoclonal antibodies.
