Recombinant monoclonal antibody to CD25. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybrodoma 32.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: Q90WJ4
Alternative Name(s) of Target: IL-2Rα; Interleukin-2 receptor subunit alpha; Interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain; chCD25; chCD25-32
Immunogen: The original antibody was raised by immunizing BALB/c mice with recombinant chicken CD25 protein.
Specificity: The antibody specifically binds to chicken CD25, a type I transmembrane protein present on activated T cells, activated B cells, some thymocytes, myeloid precursors, and oligodendrocytes. CD25 is also called interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain, and together with beta chains and common gamma chain, constitute the high-affinity IL2 receptor.
Application Notes: The original antibody detected the recombinant chicken CD25 by western blot from Con A-stimulated spleen cells. The original antibody detected CHO cells stably transfected with chCD25/IgG4 by flow cytometry. Furthermore, the antibody stained HD11 chicken macrophages, spleen mononuclear cells, and bursa derived lymphocytes. The antibody stained of MDV-transformed T cell lines, UD35 and US53, reticuloendothelial virus-transformed B cell line, CU60, and avianleukosis virus transformed macrophage cell line, HTC. This antibody was used in immunofluorescence in different tissues (spleen, bursa of Fabricius, and intestinal duodenum). The antibody blocked IL-2-dependent spleen cell proliferation and nitric oxide production (Lee et al, 2011; pmid: 21872344).

Note on publication:
The paper describes the generation and characterization of the antibody, which is specific for chicken CD25.
