Recombinant monoclonal antibody to D-Dimer. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma MA-15C5.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P02671
Alternative Name(s) of Target: XDP; Fragment D-dimer; Fibrin degradation fragment; Fibrin degradation product; Fibrin
Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with purified fragment D-dimer from cross linked human fibrin.
Specificity: This antibody is directed against a neoantigenic determinant expressed on the human fragment D-dimer. D-dimer is a protein fragment (small piece) that's made when a blood clot dissolves in your body. At D-dimer test is done to determine if a person has any blood clotting disorder.
Application Notes: This antibody has a 1000 fold higher affinity for binding human fragment D-dimer than for human fibrinogen. It could effectively bind D-dimer from human plasma clots and can be used for thrombus imaging in an animal model in vivo (PMID: 2749602). This antibody has been used in an ELISA assay for the quantification of fragment-D dimer in plasma (PMID: 3127914).

Note on publication:
Describes the generation of two antibodies against human fragment D-dimer and determines their binding properties in an in vivo rabbit model.
