Immunogen: The original antibody was raised by immunizing a mouse with a 40 amino-acid cyclical peptide containing the entire V3 sequence of HIV-1
Specificity: This antibody is specific for an epitope of envelope glycoprotein gp160 containing the HIGPGRAF sequence
Application Notes: The original antibody was used for an ELISA on repligen peptides containing V3 sequences. Further this antibody was used for a neutralization assay using 3 different HIV strains on CEM-SS cells. Here it was able to neutralize specific HIV strains (White-Scharf et al., 1993; PMID:7685962). The structure of the original antibody was determined using x-ray crystallography (Stanfield et al., 1999; PMID:10368281). This antibody was used for panning against a peptide display library (Jellis et al., 1993; PMID:7506691).
