Immunogen: This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with FHV-1-K1 particles and subsequent generation of a hybridoma.

Specificity: This antibody recognises feline herpesvirus.

Application Notes: Chimeric, felinised version of this antibody can be used in the investigation of the effective diagnostic, treating and preventing agents against FHV-1 infection. It was demnstrated that felinised form of JH2 was a succesful preventative treatment against feline FHV-1 infection; administration of the antibody 15 days before the FHV-1 infection led to a significant decrease in symptomps in these individuals (Umehashi et al., 2003).
