Immunogen: The original antibody was raised by immunizing a transgenic mouse with HCV glycoprotein.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for a region in aa 412 to 423 of the envelope glycoprotein E2.
Application Notes: The original antibody was used for a neutralization assay on Huh7.5 cells mixed with HCVcc isolates (Keck et al., 2013; PMID:23097455, El-Diwany et al., 2017; PMID:28235087), and on Huh7.5 cells with recombinant HCV (Prentoe et al., 2016; PMID:27351277). The original antibody was used for an ELISA on wild-type and ΔHVR1 HCV E2 glycoproteins (Keck et al., 2016; PMID:26739044), on E1E2 variants with resistance to broadly neutralizing antibodies (El-Diwany et al., 2017; PMID:28235087).

The original paper defines the interplay between antibodies specific for aa 434 to 446 and for aa 412 to 423, human monoclonal antibodies (HMAbs) to aa 412 to 423 were isolated, designated HC33-related HMAbs (HC33 HMAbs), and their interactions with other HMAbs to aa 434 to 446 were characterized.
