Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Genome polyprotein. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma MA28-7.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: Q66479
Alternative Name(s) of Target: VP1; Fab28-7; Capsid protein VP1; Human enterovirus 71
Immunogen: The original antibody was raised by immunizing BALB/c mice with formalin-inactivated EV71 strain 1095.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for binds specifically to the 5-fold vertex encompassing VP1-98E and VP1-244K.
Application Notes: The original version of this antibody was used for a neutralization assay by preincubating the EV71 (Human enterovirus 71) virus with the antibody and then adding Vero cells. This antibody neutralized only EV71 strains B4, B3 and C2. The structure of the fab version of this antibody was determined using cryo-EM (Lee et al., 2013; PMID:23946455). This antibody was used to immunoprecipitate EV-A71-1095 capsids from solution (Nishimura et al., 2015; PMID:26430888).

Note on publication:
The original paper identifies the strain-specific epitope of EV71 and discuses the possible neutralization mechanisms of the antibody.
