Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Genome polyprotein. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma SD6.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P03311
Alternative Name(s) of Target: Genome polyprotein; Capsid protein VP1; Virion protein 1
Immunogen: The original antibody was raised by immunizing a mouse with preparation of virus FMDV C-S8c1.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for the VP1 epitope of the foot-and-mouth disease virus.
Application Notes: The original antibody was used for an ELISA on foot and mouth disease C-S8c1. Further this antibody was used for a plaque reduction assay on FMDV (Mateu et al., 1987; PMID:2446442). The structure of this antibody was determined using cryo-EM (Hewat et al., 1997; PMID:9130694). This antibody fused with the Escherichia coli β-galactosidase enzyme was used for ELISA on its own epitope (Alcalá et al., 2003; PMID:12505169). This antibody was used for a dot blot on the FMDV VP1 G-H loop (Skamel et al., 2014; PMID:25393763).
Antibody first published in:
Mateu et al. Reactivity with monoclonal antibodies of viruses from an episode of foot-and-mouth disease Virus Res. 1987 Sep;8(3):261-74. PMID:2446442
Note on publication:
The original paper studied a panel of 12 monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) raised against foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) of serotype C1 (FMDV C-S8c1) and 11 MAbs raised against other FMDVs have been used to evaluate the reactivity of 14 isolates of FMDV of serotype C1.
