Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Gn. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma RV-Gn1.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P21401
Alternative Name(s) of Target: RVFV Gn; p78; Glycoprotein G1; Glycoprotein N
Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing New Zealand White rabbits with the full-length RVFV Gn ectodomain.
Specificity: The antibody is specific for the Gn protein. The antibody is directed to the membrane-distal domain of RVFV Gn.
Application Notes: The specificity of the original format of the antibody was confirmed by ELISA analysis. The antibody was able to able to neutralize RVFV in vitro. A plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT) demonstrated that the antibody neutralized RVFV with half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values ranging from 2.1 to 3.0 μg/mL. The antibody protected against RVFV challenge in a murine infection model. The structure of rift valley fever virus Gn in complex with the Fab fragment of the antibody was determined, revealings that the antibody targeted to the membrane-distal head region of RVFV Gn (Allen et al., 2018; PMID: 30590046).
