Recombinant monoclonal antibody to IFN gamma. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the scFV D9D10.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P01579
Alternative Name(s) of Target: Interferon gamma; Immune interferon ; IFN-gamma; IFNG
Immunogen: FPLC-purified natural human IFN-y. Refer to the original article [PMID: 3114127]
Specificity: Binds human interferon gamma, a dimerized soluble cytokine that is the only member of the type II class of interferons.
Application Notes: This antibody can be used to detect both native and recombinant intereferon gamma (IFNg). It is reported only to bind to the functional, dimeric form of IFNg.
Antibody first published in:
Froyen G, Ronsse I, Billiau A. Bacterial expression of a single-chain antibody fragment (SCFV) that neutralizes the biological activity of
human interferon-gamma. Mol Immunol. 1993 Jun;30(9):805-12. PMID:8321246
Note on publication:
Describes the preparation anti human interferon gamma antibody by D9D10 hybridoma seqencing (VH and
VK) and identified using ELISA and SDS-PAGE (for neuralisation of antiviral activity) techniques.
Western Blot using anti-IFN gamma antibody D9D10 (Ab00183) Human thymus lysate (35µg protein in RIPA buffer) was resolved on a 15% SDS PAGE gel and blots probed with the rabbit IgG-chimeric version of D9D10 (Ab00183-23.0) at 0.1 µg/ml before detection using an anti-rabbit secondary antibody. Protein was detected by chemiluminescence. The expected unmodified running size for IFN gamma is 19.3kDa, though the form shown here is likely glycosylated. Ab00183-23.0 successfully detected IFN gamma in human thymus samples.
