Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Morphine. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 3K11.

Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by immunizing Balb/c mice with two morphine derivative 3-O-carboxymethyl ester, conjugated to BSA.
Specificity: This antibody binds morphine and also recognizes the 3-O-carboxymethyl ester of morphine. Morphine is a strong opiate that is found naturally in opium, a dark brown resin in poppies (Papaver somniferum). It is considered the classic opioid analgesic, most commonly used in pain management, morphine provides major relief to patients afflicted with pain. It is a non-synthetic narcotic with a high potential for abuse.
Application Notes: This antibody binds morphine with a binding affinity of Kd = 61nM. The binding characterization of this antibody to the 3-O-carboxymethyl ester of morphine was done using ELISA (PMID: 32219918).
