Immunogen: The original antibody was raised by immunizing a mouse with NWS-Mem/98 virus.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for neuraminidase.
Application Notes: The structure of the original version of this antibody was determined using X-ray crystallography (Gulati et al., 2002; PMID:12414967) (Venkatramani et al., 2006; PMID:16384583). This antibody was used for an ELISA on NWS-Mem/98 virus (Gulati et al., 2002; PMID:12414967), and on neuraminidase (Lee and Air., 2006; PMID:16297424). This antibody was used for an inhibition assay. The antibody was able to inhibit NA activity (Lee and Air., 2006; PMID:16297424).

The original paper characterized monoclonal antibodies raised against the neuraminidase (NA) of a Sydney-like influenza virus (A/Memphis/31/98, H3N2) in a reassortant virus A/NWS/33(HA)-A/Mem/31/98(NA) (H1N2) and nine escape mutants selected by these monoclonal antibodies.
