Recombinant monoclonal antibody to porcine VCAM. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma 2A2.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: F1S567
Alternative Name(s) of Target: pVCAM
Immunogen: This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with a recombinant secreted form of porcine VCAM.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for an epitope within domain 1 of porcine VCAM, which is expressed on activated endothelial cells. It des not cross-react with human VCAM.
Application Notes: The ability of this antibody to recognise porcine VCAM has been confirmed in ELISA analysis (Mueller et al, 1995). In FC analysis, this antibody reacts with porcine VCAM on TNF-a stimulated porcine aortic endothelial cells, but not to human VCAM on TNF-a stimulated human umbilical vein endothelial cells (Mueller et al, 1995). This antibody blocks VLA-4 dependent adhesion of peripheral blood human T cells to activated porcine aortic endothelial cells (Mueller et al, 1995). It also inhibits the binding of Ramos cells to a recombinant secreted form of porcine VCAM (Mueller et al, 1995).
