Recombinant monoclonal antibody to SpA-E. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the phage display antibody 10901.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: A0A0H3K686
Alternative Name(s) of Target: immunoglobulin binding protein of Staphylococcus aureus; IGBP of Staphylococcus aureus; Immunoglobulin G-binding protein A; IgG-binding protein A; Staphylococcal protein A
Immunogen: The original antibody was generated by panning a human library against SpA.
Specificity: This antibody is specific for SpA-E of S.aureus. S.aureus is a bacteria that causes MRSA in humans, but can also cause a wide range of other infections.
Application Notes: The affinity of the antibody to bind SpA-E was determined by a standard optical interferometry method (KD < 5nM). The binding of the antibody to SpA on live S. aureus TCH1516 (USA300 MRSA strain) was tested by flow cytometry. The antibody showed inhibition of IgG binding to SpA on S. aureus cells in a flow cytometry-based surface staining assay. The antibody showed a significant reduction in S. aureus survival by opsonophagocytic killing (OPK) activity measurement (CN108064241A).
